Description

RolePlay between me and the Amazing Grace-Winters
This rp was as FUN as drawing this picture, I loved drawing Avi and Roy. I've noticed that my art style has grown when it comes to drawing cats, as for the background it needs a little more work. The little white fluffy things are suppose to be snow on the ground, not clouds if you couldn't tell.

Summary:
Roy is off to run an errand for his master when he meets another hunter named Avigail, she accompanies Roy on his errand but before the caracal starts to head back home. Avigail asks if he would like to go hunting around the border of the city with some other cats.
Read to see what happens or you could just look at the pic, warning its a spoiler! XD

Avigail

Avigail sat on the ledge of a short brick wall, wearing her spike collar and golden wrist band as always. She sniffed the cold air, as winter approached the cold front slowly drifted in. She fluffed out her fur against the cold, hopping down from the wall and padded down the street.

----------

Roy

Roy stepped out of the warm house into the cold air, his master was sending the caracal to the market place for some leaf herbs, he had come down with a little cold and didn't want to step outside himself, fearing that it would make him more ill. Heading down the street, Roy exhaled through his nose to keep the cold air away for only a moment, before he had to breath the cold in again, the small bag attached to his caller bounced as he walked.

----------

Avigail

As Avigail padded down the street, she walked by a few people and humans who recognized her and stayed out of her way. She sniffed the air and caught the scent of bounty hunter nearby. Perking her ears she spotted a small dark-coloured feline walking down the street. She flicked her ear's and decided to watch him a moment, he looked abit worried about something. So she approached him,

"Good morning," She said waving her tail in greeting.

----------

Roy

The Caracal's long ears perked up at the sound of another cat approaching, wishing him a good morning. She was a hunter, one that Roy had seen maybe once or twice in the city but never crossed each others paths to introduce one another.

"Good morning." He replied kindly, checking the small bag with his teeth, to make sure it was secured to his caller.

----------

Avigail

"You seem a bit worried, is something wrong?" Avigail asked, she wasn't sure why she was asking him. After all whatever he was up to wasn't any of her business, but something compelled the red clouded leopard to.

----------

Roy

He wasn't at all upset at her for asking, he was sure the expression on his face could be easily read. "My master is ill from the cold weather, the servant couldn't come to the market so they gave me a note and sent me to find some leaf herbs." He let out a small sigh. "This is the first time my assignment is shopping and I'm not really sure how the humans do it." Roy then smiled. "I guess I'm just a bit nervous."

----------

Avigail

Avigail nodded, "That makes sense, the market can be rather confusing for felines such as us. A lot of humans, noise and things are really distracting. But I've been there before, maybe I can be of help?" She asked, perking her ear's up slightly at the sound of human's talking near-by.

----------

Roy

Lifting his head, Roy's golden eyes got wide at her offer. "Are, are you sure?" He wasn't one to go asking other felines for help, besides he didn't want to feel like he was taking her away from her day. "I mean, I don't want to bother you with something as silly as shopping, I'm sure I can fine it eventually."

Even if it took me all day to do it. he thought to himself. "Though, some help would be greatly appreciated. My name is Roy."

----------

Avigail

"If I wasn't sure I wouldn't have offered." Avigail said, twitching her ear's back. She didn't like cats second-guessing her choices.

She nodded to his last comment, "Sure, no problem. My name is Avigail, nice to meet you Roy." She said standing up, she began to walk in the direction of the market.

----------

Roy

His paws padded through the busy street as he walked along side the clouded leopard. Since cats couldn't read Roy used his nose and eyes for any sign of herbs, the people around them were busy going from one shop to the other. He could never understand why humans liked shopping, exchanging a gold or silver coin piece for something like food, clothing, weapons etc. He knew it was important to them, overall Roy thought the humans had a strange way of living.

Taking in a whiff of the cold air the caraclal could only smell the cart of fish passing by. He wasn't sure what kind of smell to look out for. "Find anything?" He asked turning to Avigail.

----------

Avigail

The humans recognized them as bounty hunters, and stayed out of their way. Avigail was glad, she hated it when she had to force her way through crowds or groups.

She sniffed the air, her scent of smell was stronger then most cats due to her right eye being blind, she had to make up for it with her other senses. The smell of Fish was strong, but behind it she picked up a tangy smell,

"I think so." She said, padding down the street, she turned right 'round the corner. And pointed with her tail as the smell became stronger. "I think its the last cart on the end," She said, turning to him.

----------

Roy

Turning the corner Roy glanced over at Avigail. "The last cart on the end" He repeated to himself. Nodding to the red clouded Leopard in thanks before padding forward.

The shopkeeper was a woman in her mid 30s, the caracal stood watching her for a moment as she arranged small bags together in one place before moving onto the next small pile, plants and herbs could be seen all over the cart, this was the right place.

When she noticed the cat she jumped a little frightened. "Oh I didn't see you there, my what a fine looking hunter you are."

Roy pulled out the note his master gave him and held it out for the woman. "Here." He said after she took it and began reading.

"Oh I see." The woman said. "I'll get those herbs for you right away." She began looking through the cart.

Roy glanced over at Avigail and smiled. "Thanks for helping me out."

----------

Avigail

Avigail waited at the corner of the street, sitting down and watching the people moved and walk by her. Most of the humans were lost in their own thoughts and lives, paying little attention to the two bounty hunters.

When Roy turned to her and thanked her she just nodded and shrugged. "Sure," she said after a moment as the lady packed Roy's bag with the correct herbs, Avigail spoke again.

"Do you have any plans after this? I was going to go hunting with a couple other hunters, you can join us if you like." She suggested.

----------

Roy

After Roy had the herbs in his bag, his long ears perked up. "Hunting?" He smiled.

Roy felt very eager, his last big assignment was during the war watching younger cats, in the tribune gardens. It felt like forever since he had been on a assignment grouped with other Hunters. Besides Roy had only been outside the city once or twice with his master but most of their training took place inside the city.

"No I don't have anything planned after this, where should I meet you and the others once I return this to my master?"

----------

Avigail

Avigail nodded, she figured it would be good practice since she was aware he had been assigned to watch the tribunes. Not the most exciting job - but certainly important. Hunter's usually didn't hunt for prey, but occasionally they did just for practice. Avigail enjoyed it because it got her out of the city and into the grass and tree's.

"Meet us by the eastern gate, we leave in an hour with or without you so don't be late." She said, standing up.

----------

Roy

Roy waved his tail in thanks speaking to Avigail. "I'll be sure to be there on time if not early." He began padding down the street then paused looking back. "See you there." The Caracal vanished turning around a corner.

Heading home rather quickly, Roy wondered what other cats would be there on the hunt and if he had met any of them before, he was eager to find out.

----------

Avigail

Avigail waved her tail in goodbye as he left, then she padded 'round the corner and down the street.

(A bit later)

The red clouded leopard leaped down from the ledge of a roof, her paws softly hitting the stone ground as she perked her ears. She looked around, she was standing in front of the gate. Judas, Jasper, Hiro, and Marus where sitting there as well. Chatting among themselves, Avigail went up to greet them. Sitting down near Judas.

"We'll leave in just a few minutes," Judas said, Avigail gave a nod. Glancing around, she hoped Roy would show up soon.

-----------

Roy

Roy moved in a steady pace up the street, paws padding as he quickly came around a corner. The eastern gate was just ahead and so was the other cats, he wondered if they were all waiting for him or if there was anyone else? Looking over the group, he recognize most of the hunters there but he had never had the chance to meet them. A young Leopard he did recognize though, Roy met Jasper back when the leopard was a tribune, looking at the cat now Roy could mistake him as a hunter for his growing size, though Jasper was still ranked as an Apprentice.

Approaching the group Roy greeted them with a kind flick of his tail and a nod, seeing an open spot to sit down the caracal walked over and sat down next to the Serval.

----------

Avigail

Marus turned and gave Roy a nod of greeting, flicking his tail slightly as he turned his gaze to Judas. The Elite hunter stood up, "We'll separate into pairs, I'll take Ventus, Marus you can take Jasper, Avigail and Roy you two can work together. This is just for training, but take it seriously, and we will meet up back here in 2 hours. Understood?" He said, glancing at the cats that sat around him, they all nodded.

Avigail stood up, she waved with her tail for Roy to follow, as she trotted through the gate and into the grassy plains outside. The other felines split up into their groups, leaving the clouded leopard and the brown coloured Caracal alone.

----------

Roy

Roy stepped through the gate into the open grass, taking in a breath of the outside air the smell reminded him of being back in the fruit orchards with his master. The caracal stood next to Avigail, his golden eyes watching the other felines go their separate ways he turned and asked. "Do you know what kind of training assignment we were given, are we hunting something down or scouting around for any Empire scum?"

----------

Avigail

"Hunting for prey, but if we spot an empire cat..." Avigail unsheathed her claws, pulling her lips back to reveal her sharp fangs. "They count as prey." She finished her sentence with a hint of a growl in her voice.

She padded out ahead moving across the grassy field, towards the cluster of tree's that circled the edge. She didn't look back to see if Roy followed, just assuming he would.

----------

Roy

Seeing Avigail's gesture of showing her claws and teeth, Roy watched her move across the grassy field. He wasn't sure what they'd find, prey or empire cat either way they fit the same category for any hunter and they had to be ready for anything.

Roy followed Avigail. "if we do find an empire cat lets make sure we catch them." He gave a low growl. Walking quite a ways through the grassy field, smelling for any scent of prey, Roy nearly jumped as his ears perked up, the sudden sound of wiled birds squawking in the trees ahead.

He felt a little embarrassed in front of Avigail. "Sorry, I guess I'm a little jumpy this being my first time out on a patrol like this."

----------

Avigail

Avigail gave a slight nod, saying nothing. She respected Roy, but she was a very closed off and concealed feline. So she really didn't have much to say in response, instead focusing on sniffing the grass and ground as they padded along. She lifted her head and looking over in the direction of the tree's, where the bird's had flown off.

"Something must have scared them, lets go take a look" She said waving her tail for him to follow. She broke into a slight trot, until they got closer then she slowed down perking her ears for any more sounds.

"Watch your step, don't make too much noise," She warned glancing back at him.

----------

Roy

Avigail was right, something must have scared them, he watched the birds fly away. The waving of the clouded leopards tail drew his attention back and he fallowed her.

Roy's ears perked forward at Avigail's warning not to make to much noise. "Okay." he said stepping more carefully now, his paws padding softly through the grass.

----------

Avigail

Avigail gave him a light nod as she crept through the grass, placing each paw down slowly. She put her tail on his shoulder to signal him to stop as they got near. Perking up her round ears, and sniffing the air. She picked up the scent of buck, and when she peered over the grass she could catch sight of some antler's moving around.

She turned to Roy, and quietly mouthed to him as quietly as she could "its a buck" and motioned her tail in a flanking pattern. She wanted him to flank around the buck, "If you flank, and make a lot of noise to scare him towards me. I'll jump out of the grass onto it....Make sense?" She suggested, she admitted to herself jumping out at a male buck wasn't the safest of plans. But the red clouded leopard didn't mind. And she had trouble imagining Roy taking a buck down all by himself, though she didn't voice that thought.

----------

Roy

Carefully stepping through the grass Roy stopped when he saw that Avigail picked up a scent, turning her head she mouthed. "It's a buck." Even though Roy couldn't see where the animal was he could hear it munching on the grass, after Avigail had given him instructions Roy smiled and nodded his head.

Stepping away from the red clouded leopard's side, the caracal made his way through the tall grass, his paws padding carefully. Ears pricked upwards Roy knew where the Buck was as he slowly moved into position, his dark colored fur hidden within the shade of the tall grass. Roy held his breath, taking one more step before hissing and growling at the buck.

White tail up, ears back, the Buck bolted forwards away from the caracal who hissed jumping out of it's hiding place. Unaware that it was headed right into a trap.

----------

Avigail

Avigail could barley hear the smaller cat as he slowly disappeared into the grass, eventually she couldn't even pick up the sound of his paw-steps. He was very quiet, she was glad for that. As she crouched down in the grass, spreading her paws out for a firm stance. She waited there for a few moments.

Then she heard a hiss, followed by a snort from the buck as it ran away from Roy. Avigail heard it coming her way, she waited until she saw the hooves' pass by her face - a little too close for comfort she might add - and then she leaped. With a snarl onto its back, biting down on the back of the buck's neck. It reared up and tried to shake her off, she dug her black claws into its sides, refusing to let go.

-----------

Roy

Rushing forward through the tall grass, Roy watched Avigail land on top of the Buck's back, her claws and teeth gripping it's body. He wasn't sure how he was going to be able to help Avigail take down this large size animal.

Eyes scanning for any possible opening to jump onto the buck, cautious of the sharp antlers and hooves. Roy called up to Avigail. "What can I do?" His voice could barely be heard over the frantic animal as it stomped and kicked about. Suddenly the buck pulled its weight forward, hoping to shake off the clouded leopard. The bucks sharp hooves nearly crushing the caracal from underfoot.

-----------

Avigail

Avigail's green eye looked at Roy, there was no way she was going to let go of the buck. If she did, the large animal would throw her off in a heartbeat. So she couldn't answer him, she admitted she was impressed with the animal's ability to keep moving even with her large fangs sinking into its neck.

The buck kicked, and struggled, snorting as it did. Avigail could feel it slowly losing its strength, its struggle's becoming weaker. But it had one trick up its sleeve that the red clouded leopard hadn't anticipated. It suddenly fell to the ground, Avigail thought for a moment that they finally got it...

But then it rolled over, almost crushing her in the process, she was lucky enough to let go just in time and jump back. The buck tried to get up, but it was too weak. Avigail quickly finished it off so it wouldn't have to suffer. She turned to Roy,

"Sorry I couldn't speak at the time you asked me that question, are you okay?" She asked, looking him over to see if he had any wounds.

----------

Roy

Roy was nearly kicked by the buck, if he hadn't rolled onto his side he would have been hurt badly or worse. The caracal quickly found a patch of tall grass and hid, nearby the buck suddenly dropped to the ground. Ears drawn forward Roy held his breath, he couldn't see what was happening through the grass, the loud snorting sounds went silent. Before Roy could move Avigail came into view, apologizing and asked if he was okay.

He let out a sigh of relief, glad that she wasn't hurt. "Yeah, I'm fine." The cold air clearly showing his quick breathing. "Is it dead?" He asked looking around Avigail towards the motionless animal in the grass and snow.

----------

Avigail

Avigail nodded, "Its dead, I'm honestly surprised that worked." She said, she was no lion and neither was Roy. But they worked well together, "You did good." She said, it was about as close to a compliment as Avigail ever got. She looked at Roy, then turned to the buck,

"We're gonna need some help with this...." She muttered under her breath.

----------

Roy

Roy stared at the buck for a moment, what Avigail said was also I surprise to him as well, thankfully either of them didn't get hurt. When she complimented him on a good job Roy smiled. "Thanks, though you did most of the work. I only wish I was as strong as you." He paused for a moment then added. "I'm going to train hard every chance I get so that one day I can take down bigger animals or bigger empire cats."

Poking the lifeless buck with a paw Roy's long caracal ears heard Avigail mutter under her breath, he turned to face her. "How about we find the others, I'm sure they would be please to help drag this thing back?" He knew that Judas, Jasper, Hiro, and Marus couldn't be very far, patrolling near the city wall hunting for pray.

-----------

Avigail

Avigail looked at Roy, and gave him a nod, Roy had gained her respect today. And she knew now, she could rely on him if she ever needed to. She paused for a moment. "Yes, we're need their help. I'll go look for them if you can stay and watch the buck?" She said.

----------

Roy

"Sure." He nodded watching Avigail start to walk away. A smile fromed around his maw. They took down a buck, he couldn't wait to see the other hunters faces.
